Easter at PaPa's & Grandma Cheryl's

Our Grand-Boys did get an Easter Basket and our Nephews recv'd choc. Bunnies. But we always make sure that they know the TRUE meaning of why we celebrate Easter!

Elizabeth Enjoyed Easter too! She is eating Squash!

Easter Weekend! (For some) :)

Hi Everyone: Well we got through the Easter weekend even though our church doesn't celebrate Easter until April, they following the Orthodox Calendar. I know you are probably asking well, what kind of a church are they attending. It isn't connected with any particular denomination but we do function in a church that is owned by the Assembly of God denomination. It is a question that in the near future I hope to have a clearer answer for those of you who have asked either Gary or I that. But please don't let that scare you, because Pastor Kevin preaches straight from God's word and in the last year I have learned more from him then I have in almost 49 years of teaching from others. I will truly miss him when he and his family move to Arizona. Enough about that.

We had a wonderful weekend beginning with attending Good Friday service with my friend Stacey and her two girls at their new church. I also got to see my friends the Reason's and their two boys. Wow, they are growing into fine young men! It made me feel old!!! It was good to sing some of the old hymns like The Old Rugged Cross and Amazing Grace. Her pastor's message was titled "The Worst of Good Friday", it wasn't the betrayal, it wasn't the beating, it wasn't even the cruxification, It was the separation from his Father! Then on Saturday evening Gary and I had dinner with our friends that we camp with and then a time of bible study. Gary's mother, sister and her family and Cristan and her family and of course Steven, were here for Easter lunch. We had turkey crepes, spinach salad, fresh fruit and Eleanor made a rhubarb-strawberry cake for dessert. Steven said it was the worst Easter dinner he had ever had. Everyone else enjoyed it. I was feeling a little lazy and didn't want to spend all day in the Kitchen on Sat. or Sunday. But I did make the crepes! Whats the boy want? He didn't have to cook it and he took off to his girlfriends to eat more later. If you have seen a picture of him latly then you know he isn't wasting away! :)

Well, I hope that you had a Blessed Easter weekend and enjoyed a time of fellowship with family and also had time for some rest! I will also post some pic's from the weekend. Enjoy!

Hi Everyone: Monday was a busy day, took Elizabeth her little room to her house and spent some time loving on the grand-babies. Then PaPa and I came home and later on in the evening I went to my Line dancing class. Two more sessions and it will be over! Yea! I have enjoyed it but am glad it is coming to and end. I just wanted to move a little and thought it would be fun. It has been! But it was also a little more challenging then I thought it would be. Oh Well!
Enjoy the new pic's of the grand-kids. Also I wanted to let you know that Steven's leg is healing!

Chat with you again soon,

Sunday, March 9, 2008

Hi Everyone: Went to church today and I had the little kids. There were 4 boys aging from 2 to 6 years old and then two helpers I think around the age of 12. They kept that room a hopping. The grandson's were over for the weekend and when Cristan and Mike came today to pick them up we put the final things in Elizabeth's little room. I showed you 3 pictures of it. It will sit over the top of her and it is filled with different items that sound different or feel different. This is one of the suggestion that the lady who runs the resource center suggested we do so Elizabeth will begin to feel all sort of different things and hear all sorts of different sounds. There are wooden spoons, metal spoons, bottle brush, different kinds of balls, plates, cups, dog chain, bracelets etc. She seemed to enjoy it for a little while today. I think that the room may have to be a little quieter for her. Maybe it will be a good activity for her when her brothers are off to school!:)
Well, I hope that your Sabbath was a peaceful and restful one. Chat with you all again soon.

Elizabeth & Uncle Steven's bo- bo!

Hi Everyone: Our son Steven has been battling a terrible infection. It has caused him to break out in boils all over. He has been on antibiotic's and had to make several trips to the doctor. We thought he had coverage on his blue cross but found out that it is only for catastrophic coverage. So to say the least he has run up at bill. Here is a

picture of one of the worst boils!

Gary and I stopped in to see Elizabeth and the boys yesterday. Here is one of the latest pic's of her. She is now able to lay down and is enjoying it! She is loving kicking her legs and being free of that car seat, well except for in the car! Thank you all again for your continued prayers on her behalf. Chat again soon.

Update on Elizabeth

I forgot to share that I went with Cristan to the Retina Specialists on Tuesday. He looked at Elizabeth and said her eye was looking good. He said that as of Saturday March 1 st she could begin to sleep in her crib. She now can also spend time on the floor and begin to learn to roll over. I talked with Cristan today and she said that Elizabeth didn't like being out of her car seat. She didn't sleep very well last night. She has been sleeping through the night so now she will have to adjust to this new surroundings. I think she felt save in the car seat. She went from the comfort of her mother's womb to the comfort of her car seat. So this is all a new feeling to her. I told Cristan just to have patience. The doctor did say that in the next few months he will be putting Elizabeth to sleep to be able to get a better look at the healing process that is going on. She really gave him a hard time during this exam! With each day our Heavenly Father is giving us all the strength we need to take it a day at a time. We appreciate all of the prayers that have been said on Elizabeth behalf! Thank you! It means more then you know.

God Bless,

Grandma Cheryl
How do you like this home made Rocket Ship!

Hi Everyone:

Well, it's March already. I am praying that means that Spring is not to far off in the future. We have had a long white winter! :( The grand-kids have loved it, but this Grandma is getting tired of it. I can't wait to get out their and walk in the fresh air again.

I have had a very long week beginning with the septic backing up and making in a mess in our basement in the middle of the night or should I say early morning hours of Wednesday. Then on Thursday I attended the funeral of my husbands Great Aunt.On Friday morning Cristan and the boys and Elizabeth stopped by while Michael helped someone move. Papa had a great time with them in the snow and also in the hot tub. On Friday afternoon I was off to our Church's women's retreat which was held at the Salvation Army Camp. Only to get home on Saturday and begin to prepare for our camping group the Sunnysiders to come over for Bible study and dessert. But I survived! It is always good to fellowship with them. We did however miss our friends who spend the winter in Florida.

I am enjoying a quiet Sabbath rest today. It is always good to be in the house of the Lord and come home feeling refreshed! It was a little sad today because after our monthly potluck we had to say goodbye to a family that I will greatly miss. I am however greatful that God has allowed our paths to cross.

Well, that's all for now. But I leave you with a few pic's of the Grand-kids. Enjoy!
