Howell Michigan Hot Air Balloon Festival - June 2008

Hi Everyone: Gary and our Camping family went over to Howell for the Hot Air Balloon Festival this past weekend. The weather wasn't to bad, but we didn't get to see the Balloon's launch. It was to windy that day. But the event had lots of other things for us to see. There was a Medieval area, Sky Divers, Classic Car show, Carnival rides and so that meant Elephant ears! Also we say a stunt kite show, dog show, and an art show. So we had enough to keep us busy for a few hours. Gary and I were on to provide dessert Friday evening so I took advantage of this and we celebrated Gary's 50th birthday which will actually be Tues. July 1st. On Friday morning Gary and I wondered over to downtown Howell where we ran into the Fox 2 reporter. She was ordering a new purse from this little Boutique in Howell. I found a new bag to carry to church that has Philippians 4:13 embroidered on the front. I thought it would be great for my bible and glass's I have to use to read now! :) Maybe that way I won't forget and leave them on the pew!
Gary also picked up a new Coffee Mug for himself. Well, take care until next time. Hope you are enjoying the summer, it seems that it's either been Hot and muggy or chilly here. Hopefully we will get some consistent weather in the 80's soon!
God Bless,
Grandma Cheryl

Last day at Yogi Bear Campground - June 2008

Well it was a great weekend with the Kids and Cristan over at Silver Lake. Before we left the campground Papa and Grandma took Elizabeth on the last wagon ride of the day with Bo Bo Bear and Cindy Bear. You know, Yogi's friend and Girl Friend! In a few weeks we will be in Howell, MI for the Hot Air Balloon Festival. I will share more later.

Camping June 2008 - Michgian Light House

Cristan the Boys and Papa climbed to the top of this light house on Lake Michigan. Elizabeth was sleeping so I stayed and watched over her. Thank you Elizabeth, those stairs would of been to much for this Grandma!

Camping June 2008, Mac Dune Ride

Another planned activity we did while on the west side of the State was to take the tour on the Mac Dunn ride. It is very informative and the boys loved the ride through the Dunne's and onto the shore of Lake Michigan. It was a little breezy but we really had fun! If you ever get the chance, it's worth the time.

June 2008 Camp out - Rodeo

On Saturday evening we attend the Rodeo in Hart, MI. The Sunnysiders who we camp with were in Warsaw, IN last year and saw this same Rodeo. The opening act, a singer I really enjoyed and Gary bought me his CD. He happened to be the opening act at this Rodeo and I was able to have my picture taken with him, Thanks Cindy! He's not bad on the eye's ladies!

Camping weekend June 2008 - Sand Dunes

What would a trip to the West side of Michigan be without a stop at the sand dunes! I have never climbed up the dunes but because of the recent weight loss and the flexibility I have gained doing water aerobics I am Proud to say I did it, I climbed the Sand dunes! :) Yea!

Camping weekend June 2008

We camped at Silver Lake Michigan and stayed at the Yogi Bear Campground there. It is a great park filled with lots of family activities and a heated pool!

Camping weekend June 2008

We spent most of the day Friday at Michigan Adventure. The kids had a great day and we enjoyed watching them on the rides and had a great time in the water park! If you live in Michigan it's a great family park.

Camping Trip June - 2008

Hi Everyone: This past weekend we took Elizabeth, Jeremiah, Josiah and Cristan camping on the west side of the state with us. It was planned as a weekend to celebrate Dennis Hickmott's 60th birthday! Dennis and all 11 of his grandchildren were there, plus there parents. The Dunn families, and Harris family were with us also and Mildred (Sharon's) mother. We had a great weekend and just a little bit of bad weather.
